Something was going on across the road from the park. A big crowd was headed that way.
We followed it and found this very long queue.

Everyone was queuing to buy concert tickets.

In Tokyo, not everyone wears their undergarments on the inside.

We wandered around some more and found these young boys.
They look like they were about ten but they must have been pop stars because they were driving all the young girls crazy.
The boys weren't singing or dancing or doing anything. They just blew balloons and acted cute.
The girls all kept a polite distance from them, took photos with camera phones and occasionally called out to one or two of them.
Any reaction on the boys' part was cause for much giggling and mention of the word "kawaii".

with hundreds of booths promoting environmentally-friendly lifestyles and sustainable energy.

They attempted to drive this electric off-road vehicle through 7km of frozen sea between
Hokkaido and Sakhalin (Russia) in February.

The Lithium ion batteries in the vehicle were sometimes powered by Solar and sometimes powered by a portable windmill.
The main problem they found was that the transistors and capacitor in the vehicle needed replacing often.

NTT DoCoMo had a stall collecting and preparing old handphones and handphone batteries to be recycled.
The Lithium in our handphone batteries are toxic and seeps into ground water if not disposed off properly.

I think this might be a Segway or a Segway clone.

Environmental-themed Bonzai diorama competition.

Of course, there was no shortage of cartoon characters at the fair.

We crossed the road back to Yoyogi Park and found a corner that was full of garage bands and other musicians.
