Day 4 - December 8, 2006: Victoria and Albert Museum
See Ming is done with meetings, so we have the next few days to ourselves.
Our plan for today was to join the tour of Windsor Castle that starts near the Marble Arch, but the weather was bad and the
tour was cancelled today.
We decided to visit nearby Hyde Park, but it was cold and wet.
This is Speaker's Corner where people come to speak on anything without fear of legal repercussions but today, it's empty.
Some horses in Hyde Park.
The Marble Arch.
With nothing left to do around the area, we just headed to Portobello Road for some shopping.
Lulu, who runs See Ming's favourite stall in Portobello Road.
Late lunch at the Four Seasons Chinese Restaurant at Bayswater.
The roast duck is really nice (my dad's favourite roast duck in the whole world)
but the sweet and sour pork was quite horrible.
We took the tube to South Kensington station. There was a skating rink outside the Natural History Museum.
Across the road from here is the Victoria and Albert Museum where we're headed.
Some exhibits inside the V & A Museum.
Plaster cast of Richard I's tomb in Fontevrault Abbey, France. The museum boasts the most
comprehensive collection of plaster casts of European sculptures and many of these casts today
are in much better condition than the originals.
Plaster cast of Michelangelo's David.
The plaster cast David used to wear this whenever royal ladies visited the museum.
See Ming bought a ticket to see the "At Home in Renaissance Italy" exhibition.
She wasn't supposed to take any pictures but she took a few anyway.
When the museum closed, we did a little shopping at Harrods. We saw this guy when we came out.
