Day 2 - May 25, 2008: Auckland

We got up early in the morning to visit the flea market at Avondale race course.
Some of the merchandise.
In the afternoon, we visited the Viaduct Harbour.
We saw some people performing the Maori haka to a group of tourists, so went for a closer look.
Fosh ohnd chops for lunch.
KZ1, built for the 1988 Americas Cup challenge, is one of the biggest sloop-rigged yachts ever built at over 40 metres. A court order forced the cup holder San Diego Yacht Club to face the Kiwi challenger. The American response was to exclude all other challengers and meet the KZ1 with a 60-metre catamaran. The mismatch saw the KZ1 losing 2-0 and legal battles ensued, but in the end, the catamaran victory was allowed to stand. New Zealand has challenged for the Americas Cup three times and in 1995, they won.
The Sky Tower at night.
We had dinner at the lobby of the SkyCity grand, at a restaurant called Dine by Peter Gordon. See Ming had lamb and I had venison and both were delicious.
A few of the kitchen through a window.
