Tamiya DF-02 Gravelhound

Picked up this buggy for dirt cheap to run in the Tamiya Asia Cup qualifiers in 2006. It's got a bulletproof drivetrain but not-so-bulletproof suspension parts. This car belongs to my niece now.

The chassis
Tamiya High-Torque servo saver helps keep the steering tighter.
The suspension arm mounts are on the side of the chassis/gearbox walls (which are very thin), and these are the first things to go in a crash.
I thickened this wall with some talcum-powder + CA.
The Tamiya DF-02 turnbuckle set (53788) is actually one of the best Tamiya legal upgrades for the buggy. What I've done here, which is not-so-legal, is I ditched the long grub screw from the turnbuckle set and went with a long screw that goes all the way through from the other end to hang on to the ball nut. This makes the rear hub much stronger. Also, I've swapped the left and right rear hubs to keep the ball joints at a straighter angle. This keeps them from popping off too easily.
